Gloss Coated Raw Metal

All our products consist of metal construction that's clear gloss powder-coated over the raw sheet metal, only for indoor use. (note that some brown patina will occur under the powder coating ) Natural products may vary

Wood Option Finishes

Teak Softwood

The intention is so that the product appears rustic and authentic. Teak coloured stain and sustainably sourced pine is used and lightly sanded to the desired finish. Natural products may vary

Fasteners plated with a brass coating and coated with a durable polyurethane matt coating only for indoor use.

Fasteners plated with a Copper coating and coated with a durable polyurethane matt coating only for indoor use.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Leather

Do not expose to direct sunlight or consistent UV light as discolouration and fading will result. Dust or vacuum regularly with a soft brush to remove surface dust. Occasionally wipe with a soft, damp cloth to avoid an accumulation of dust which can act as a corrosive and damage the leather.

Blot spills immediately with an absorbent cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and detergents. Do not use artificial heat or harsh sunlight to dry leather furniture, as this can cause the leather to become dry and crack. Professional cleaning is recommended.

Metals

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use coarse abrasive powders, metallic scourers, silver or brass cleaners. Steel is not rust proof and should not be wiped down with a damp cloth. This product is natural steel that’s powder-coated.

Furniture Fabrics

Vacuum weekly with a soft brush. Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth, do not rub or try to clean with harsh chemicals. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and heat, this could cause fading and discolouration. Professional cleaning is recommended.

Wood

Wipe wood daily with a cotton cloth to remove dust. Avoid harsh soaps and chemicals. Sponge with a mild solution of water and soap (dishwashing liquid). Using mostly the foam is recommended.

Over time the wood will absorb more of the soap making the furniture repellent to marks and staining. These care suggestions, however, may not be considered as a guarantee against stains.

Stock

Mekami furniture is based out of Malmesbury, Western Cape, South Africa. A home-based company. All our stock are custom made to order therefore no stock will be on hand to supply. We only start with the manufacturing once payment is received. All orders will take between 5-7 weeks to be fulfilled, 2 weeks will be added if the product is custom in size or special materials.

Delivery Instructions

Mekami will contact the customer to arrange delivery on any weekday between 09h00 and 16h00. No deliveries will be made during weekends or on public holidays. Reasonable endeavours will be made to deliver the product on the arranged time and date.

Circumstances that are unforeseen or beyond our control may result in changes to the agreed delivery date and time of which the customer will be telephonically informed and alternative arrangements will be made.

The customer is required to inspect products on delivery.

The customer or the person taking delivery on behalf of the customer will be required to sign a proof of delivery (POD). Unless indicated to the contrary on the POD, it is deemed that the product has been delivered and received in good condition and, where appropriate, following the customer’s specifications.

The customer must ensure that the place of delivery is accessible; that the product delivered can fit into lifts, staircases or through doors and that all the relevant areas have been cleared before delivery. This includes the removal of breakable objects. No products will be hoisted over balconies or through windows. Should hoisting be required, the customer will arrange this at his own cost. The customer accepts the risk of all damages that may result due to non-compliance by the customer. The customer will be charged for additional delivery costs due to failed deliveries, access problems and/or failure to adhere to the appointment time for the delivery.
